New Georgia senators to hitch Senate Banking Committee

WASHINGTON — Democratic Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, each of Georgia, will be part of the Senate Banking Committee for the 117th Congress, in keeping with quite a few press experiences.

Warnock and Ossoff, who gained runoff election contests in early January to flip the Senate to Democratic management, will serve on the committee chaired by Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.

In the meantime, Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, will now not serve on the banking panel. The 2 committee assignments had been first reported in a tweet attributed to Politico.

Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., had a seat on the committee earlier than dropping his reelection bid to Ossoff in January.
